Our Game
Inner brillance from which we are torn apart
We have all known our place since the game’s very start
One rolls a dice
Another rolls two
Some walk into glory
Another trips over his shoes
Fair it is not, the games has its flaws
Yet people keeping playing, obeying its laws
Players removed when the games sees it fit
Many lose or are forced to quit
It began with such vigor, such pure joyous fun
Now the only victors seem to be carrying guns
The dice have been buried, along with the rules long ago
Waiting to be pushed while someone yells”GO!”
Guiding your movement, hindering thought
NEVER try to win, you will risk being caught

Integrity
If you question the answers
The world opens up
Becomes a little clearer
And your faith not so tough
Believing in nothing unless you see it occur
Everyone you meet is an ethical blur
Morality is challenged
You may be the only one left
Told to conform to society’s requests
Standing your ground is a balancing act
Shoved from all sides with no time to react
If you live towards a world of utopian mold
When the rest turn to dust
It will be your heart that remains gold

Hello Bed
Well here I lie awake in the night
No trouble can reach me with my pillow in sight
My solace
My sanctuary
My saving grace
Four walls surround me, defying all time and space
Eye lids of lead
Darkness Falls
Fatigue creeps in
A goodnight sleep calls
No one is bickering or fighting aloud
No one is cheating or shooting into a crowd
Only myself and my voice in the confines of my mind
I feared silence like this was impossible to find
For the next few moments the world seems like gold
Because I cannot hear the sirens ringing out in the cold
The world consists of my mattress set
But when the sun rises…
Who knows what I’ll get
