After a weekend of very little sleep and more than my fair share of tequila, I found myself surfing online last night killing a couple hours before slipping into a coma around 9pm.
I’m not sure how it happened, but I found my way onto www.surfthechannel.com and watched about 1/4 of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I had totally forgotten my all-time favourite comedian is front and center in the movie. George Carlin. So I immediately went to YouTube for some of George’s finer material.
From Carlin’s last DVD he seems to have slipped from genius, edgy comedian into the bitter, angry old man category but I still love him just the same. He’s got a long list of fans from the realist segment of society and is known mostly for his views on government, white people, and especially religion.
Below is a 10min clip on Religion. Even some of my ever faithful friends have enjoyed this so I thought I would post it for all. Its Carlin’s unbelievable delivery and clarity of thought that makes his explanations of religious law so hilarious. This is what happens when you start thinking about what you’ve been taught.
If you’re a believer or not, you have to take a look at this. And perhaps later tonight you’ll find yourself praying to the almighty Joe Pesci.
