Thanks for your post on self-censorship, I found it very interesting and spot on with my own views. I myself constantly battle with my self-censor, but mine seems to revolve around a more sensitive subject...I am interested in writing about the horrific &#039;tradition&#039; of honour killings still taking place in remote Muslim communities of the Middle East. I wondered what you thought about applying the self-censor to topics of political sensitivity? There is, of course, a desperate desire to speak out about the atrocities still delivered to innocent women, but a writer must also be aware of the realistic reactions the are likely to receive from certain power spheres. How would you go about working with your self-censor, and indeed, the expected external censorship, to voice discussions on topics such as this?
