Its because 28 years ago today I was born, so therefore its a great day. No, this is a FACT and not up for discussion.
I don’t know what it is today, but this year truly feels like a new lease on life. Barcelona is quickly approaching and the details are getting clearer while I’m becoming more excited. The last bit of anger and resentment from my recent breakup is all but dissipated, and the more I look around, the more I realize how lucky I am to have the quality of people I do in my life.
And hopefully those people will be happy to assist and join me in getting drunk this evening to celebrate.
Birthdays are complex animals. They can either hunt you down and make a bad time much worse, or make even the little things seem incredible. I don’t know if its just me, but if you think about it, on your birthday you’re really just ONE day older. Although since we always put such effort and importance into our birthdays it seems 365 days of growth gets thrown at you in one day.
Let me tell you how I’ve celebrated my week so far. There’s a restaurant in town called Tony Romas, and they have the gracious offering of a $18.99 discount if its the week of your birthday so I’ve doing my best to take full advantage of this and have already had 3 free meals this week at different locations. So…thank you Tony Romas, your ribs are consistently delicious.
I plan to take 28 much more seriously than 27. I feel that if I were a sports team, 27 was definitely what I would call a “rebuilding year”. Even though it was a terrible season, I think I got some good skills and wisdom in the draft and this coming year should be a step in the right direction.
I’ll definitey be trying to write and blog more so to keep my vast audience of 1 informed, and I’m doing my best to stay away from any serious relationships…unless a beautiful chica in Spain steals my heart. In that case, the blogging will stop and I will be forced to learn spanish and become a matador to support my family.
